Here comes a shocker- Eklavya, one of biggest Bollywood duds, is India’s official entry for the Oscars. The film depicting a violent family saga starring Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan, has been nominated for the Best Foreign Film Category.

This is the third time Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s luck has shined for Oscar nomination after An Encounter with Faces and Parinda in 1989. Pahlaj Nihalani, President of Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programmes confirmed the selection.

However, Nihalani was peeved with the jury for selecting a film "rejected by Indian masses”.” I don't see any logic behind picking this movie when there were other deserving movies like Chak De India and Gandhi- My Father," he said. Well same here!
