Carrom champ
Sunday, 10.28.2007, 09:51pm (GMT-7)

After Rang De Basanti , south Indian actor Siddharth has signed his second Hindi film.Siddharth has been extra-choosy about the films he wants to do in Bollywood. He has turned down offers from directors like Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and David Dhawan just because their scripts did not enthuse him. Now, the actor has given his nod to play a carrom champ in director Chandan Arora’s film titled Striker.

The film is inspired from the real life story of Surya Kant, who lived in the slums of Malvani and played excellent carrom. The movie will also star Vidya Malwade (who played the goalie in Chak De India ), south Indian actress Padmapriya and model Nicolette Bird.

Siddharth has been training himself in playing carrom and would acquire commendable skill over the game by the time the film goes on the floors in December. The actor has met Surya Kant several times and he has also been visiting Malvani to get a feel of the place.
