Among all the films Neil Nitin Mukesh signed after his appreciated debut last year, none had him in a romantic role so far.Neil can be rightly dubbed as ‘the dark knight’ of Bollywood. After debuting in Johnny Gaddaar in 2007, every single movie Neil has been offered is some kind of a dark thriller.

For instance, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny by Sudhir Mishra is said to be an ode to film noir. Neil pairs with Bipasha Basu in Freeze which is a supernatural thriller. He is also doing director Kabir Khan’s untitled film about terrorism. Add to the list Madhur Bhandarkar ’s Jail that will have Neil playing a prisoner.And while Neil has been signing all these dark and serious films, his parents have been prodding him to do something light-hearted, something romantic.

Their wishes have now come true because Neil has agreed to do a full-on romantic movie with director Ken Ghosh .Ghosh, who normally works with Shahid Kapur , is opting for Neil because he thinks the actor suits the role better than Shahid.Neil, too, is gung-ho about working in Ghosh’s “sweet and entertaining romantic movie” after a spate of serious roles. He will romance the gorgeous Amrita Rao in the flick.Meanwhile, Neil is next headed to New York to shoot the Yashraj Film with John Abraham and Bipasha Basu .
