Rep Holt named Seema campaign chairman
Monday, 09.24.2007, 12:03am (GMT-7)

SOUTH BRUNSWICK: Congressman Rush Holt has been named Honorary Campaign Chairman for the 14th Legislative District campaigns of Seema Singh for State Senate and Assemblywoman Linda R. Greenstein and Wayne DeAngelo for Assembly.

The trio welcomed Holt's leadership and support in the final two months of the campaign. In a letter to the candidates, Holt said he was pleased to serve as honorary chair of the Democratic legislative campaign and urged the citizens of the 14th District to join him in supporting the team.

"Seema Singh, Linda Grenstein, Wayne DeAngelo and I share a commitment to improving the integrity, transparency, and responsiveness of government. We also share the traditional view that a legislator's first job is to represent the district - its traditions, its heritage and its aspirations, including the hope of citizens to have confidence in their government," said Holt.

"Confidence and competence should be our watchwords. Seema, Linda, and Wayne have what it takes to turn those words into action." Having first been elected to the House of Representatives in 1998, Holt has been an outspoken opponent of the War in Iraq, advocate for election reform, defender of the environment, and outspoken champion for the people of New Jersey.

"We are thrilled to have Congressman Holt as a member of our team. He has been a friend, ally and confidante in the last few months and his continued support in the final stretch of our campaign will be invaluable," said Singh (D-South Brunswick).

During the qualifying period of the Fair and Clean Elections program, Holt assisted Singh, Greenstein and DeAngelo by hosting several house parties throughout Mercer and Middlesex County.
