LOS ANGELES, CA: Think of Indian food, and gobi (cauliflower) is not the first thing that comes to mind, primarily because not many people like gobi. But once you taste the crispy, sweet and spicy, Indo-Chinese fusion Gobi Manchurian at the Woodlands Indian Cuisine in Artesia, you will become a fan.Located in the heart of Little India in Artesia on Pioneer Boulevard, Woodlands - a pure Indian vegetarian restaurant - made its way to the Los Angeles Times's Top Ten Best Restaurants List."It came as a surprise to all of us," mentioned Zarrir Bhandara, the Restaurant Manager.

"We had no idea when LA Times came by, and when they tried our food. But it certainly is a nice surprise."Although the restaurant has been in business for the last seven years, it wasn't until five years ago that the new management took over and renovated the eatery, giving it a new feel and taste.

"We cook any vegetarian dish that our customers request, as we have four cooks covering all regions of India," explained Bhandara. It's not only the great tasting food that brings customers back to Woodlands but also the prices.Every Tuesday through Friday, you can enjoy and all-you-can-eat lunch buffet with over 14 choices of dishes, plus 12 kinds of Dosas on plate, topping it off with either tea or coffee for only $7.95.And if that's not enough for you, you can enjoy a dozen kinds of Dosas for the price of one on Wednesdays and Fridays. From North to South, and East to West, Woodlands covers all corners of India.

The restaurant also does caterings and has a banquet hall next door that seats over 200 people. The management plans to cook up more specialty dishes bringing the taste of India to its customers. The restaurant is located at 11833 Artesia Boulevard, Artesia, CA 90701(at the northeast corner of Artesia and Pioneer in the Artesia Center).
