Yogi Bhajan Remembrance Day and Akal Takhat Martyrdom Kirtan
Wednesday, 10.10.2007, 12:39am (GMT-7)

As we enter a blessed time of Gurpurbs, the Sadh Sangat on Saturday, Oct 6th 2007 started the season by commemorating the attack on the Akal Takhat and Harimandir Sahib to pray that never again shall there be an attack against any holy place of worship, against any other Religious faith; and that we may remember those who gave their lives, who stood strong as steel, steady as stone in front of their assailants.

The Sadh Sangat also came together to remember the late Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji, also known as Yogi Bhajan, who came to the west to create Kundalini Yoga teachers and to spread the Holy Naam.

The Siri Singh Sahib Ji was a world leader and a champion of world peace. The evening started with one full hour of chanting "Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru" led by the well known Gurdwara designer Seva Kaur Khalsa, tuning into and bringing forth the energy and light of Guru Ram Das, The Lord of Miracles.

Mukhia Singh Sahib Guru Singh then joined the Sadh Sangat bringing his guitar with him to chant joyous songs from the past and connecting these songs to stories about the Siri Singh Sahib and to the first time that American Sikhs went to the Harimandir Sahib to take a sip and a dip in it's nectar tank as well as receiving Amrit. Mukhia Singh Sahib Guru Singh was there among many who took their Amrit vows. He recalled the story of coming out of the Golden Temple to see a huge rainbow being up high in the blue sky. It hadn't rained and there were no clouds.

The miracle of Guru Ram Das!If you happened to walk by you would have been enchanted by the beautiful energy emanating from Guru Ram Das Ashram. Not only was the Gurdwara beautifully lit reminding us of the Golden Temple, but you could see and feel God and Guru's light shining bright through every soul present.

That light kept on getting brighter and brighter with the presence of Bhai Gurudeep Singh's Ragi Jetha from the Lankershim Gurdwara bringing the Guru's word to each heart, mind and soul. After a beautiful afternoon and evening of uplifting music and words from the Guru, the Sadh Sangat sat together for a delicious Langar prepared and brought with prayers from each person who attended.
