Where fashion meets for a good cause

 LONG ISLAND, NY: The Nargis Dutt Cancer Foundation held its prestigious Annual Fundraising Dinner Gala on October 7 at Marriot Long Island in New York. The fastionastas witnessed a lavish enthralling collection by Designer Ritu Kumar for the cause of bringing better care to cancer sufferers. Ritu Kumar's fashion line featured a range of contemporary clothing from traditional sets to cocktail outfits.

Ritu Kumar, who has heralded the world of high-end Indian couture for over two decades, encapsulates the essence of her International Indian fashion line in a few words, "For me, fashion is not just for the size 6. I make real clothes for real people".

The foundation, presided over by Dr Inderpal Chhabra, reassured that it would take all necessary steps to elevate the Foundation to the next level, which, since 1981, has been providing equipment and financial support for training to achieve their central goal: to improve medical care for cancer patients.

The foundation embodies the struggle of the late Nargis Dutt, who fell prey to cancer. The dinner honored distinguished cardiologist, Dr Rajiv Jauhar, renowned gastroenterologist, Dr Rajiv Saxena, and Dr Ajay Lodha, for achieving excellence in medical care and community services, and noted Anulolu Rao for selfless and dedicated services in field of Philanthropy.

The elite event was marketed and managed by Shruti Tiwari of Mediasphere Inc that has been responsible for bring some top designers like Manish Malhotra, JJ Valaya since past two years
