Monday, 10.22.2007, 02:01am (GMT-7)

India Post News Service

CHICAGO: Gujarati Samuday, a socio-political organization active has come out strongly in favor of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. The Samuday leaders have made an appeal to get him elected one more time, in view of the strident progress of the state in the past decade under his stewardship.Samuday leaders met the ethnic news media last week here to announce their support to the leadership of Narendra Modi, during the coming State Assembly Elections.

The spokespersons, Dr Bharat Barai, Hasmukh Patel and others emphasized that this was the result of a dynamic leadership and administrative integrity provided by the Chief Minister after two decades of political instability in the State. They were unanimous in their agreement to the positive contribution made by the BJP government to provide wisdom, unity and vision for social welfare and economic development. They noted an all round progress in education, rural development, agriculture and caste and communal harmony in the State.

This conscious awareness of these positive developments contributed to the economic growth elevating the position of farmers and labor alike along with the burgeoning middle-class, they observed. Gujarat has emerged as a leader with investments totaling Rs. 116,993 crores (15%) covering 52 special economic zones, 383 new projects spreading to Natural Gas, textiles, ports, health care and information technology. Gujarat also holds the distinction of holding three Economic Summits to attract overseas and local investments.
