LOS ANGELES: Southern California Nagar Association (SCNA) celebrated their Navratri and New Year Saturday, October 20. The festivities began with prayers to Lord Shiva followed by Maa Amba bhajans by some local artists including Hiren Majumdar.
A humble prayer and bhajans preceded a dinner prior to Navratri Raas and Garba. This is where everyone including children joined in. An electrifying energy flowed into the feet of young and old as the hall filled with music and dance.
The traditional Raas and Garba went on till the wee hours of the morning. The evening concluded with an Aarti and Prasadam. The program was arranged by SCNA, a non-profit organization, led by Yatin Buch, President; Shefali Majmudar, Vice President; Kirtar Munshi, Secretary and Urvi Dholakia, Treasurer and others. SCNA organizes many events each year that are attended by many families from all over southern California.
