Five Point Tire Center - Car care and more
Tuesday, 11.27.2007, 11:27pm (GMT-7)

India Post News Service

PICO, Rivera: At first sight Five Point looks like just another auto repair shop where you might want to drop in to get minor repairs or maybe a quick oil change - well that's what you think - and you are so dead wrong!!First of all, do not let the name misguide you. Five Point Tire Center was originally located in the City of Norwalk at the junction of Pioneer Rosecraus and San Antonio. There, the then owner Simon Karian ran a one stop establishment catering to all car needs including tires or fixing flats.

The location of his garage was such that there was immense demand for tire or wheel services - thus the name.Simon relocated to Pico Rivera and was joined by his long time friend Jose Mungraya as his partner. Southern California's best in the auto repair business had now joined hands.Five Point Tire Center is essentially a one stop shop for all your car needs.

Apart from the routine repair, they do the complete range of repair and service from bumper to bumper. This includes transmission servicing and rebuilding, engine rebuilding, complete auto electrical, A/C service, repair of installation, shocks, brakes, smog, and of course wheel alignment, balancing and tires.Five Point is certified by the D.M.V. for Brake and Light Inspection.

They also offer free alignment with the purchase of four new tires.Simon Karian is a giant in this field. He has over 40 years experience in this line and is a man of impeccable honesty and high character. This experience ranges from servicing or fixing Turkish Army tanks or vehicles during his younger days in his native Turkey to many decades of working on American and imported cars here in the United States.Jose Mungaya, Simon's partner, got his stripes at GM where he was a foreman in the assembly reaction. Jose has over 17 years or service with GM after which he did a short spell in UK and Germany with Rolls Royce and Daimler Benz.

He also worked with BMW as an instructor training mechanics and service technicians. Like Simon, Jose is also a very God fearing man and rigidly honest. The rates very reasonable, Five Point has a fine team that works in tandem to provide the best service to its clients. No Customer is too big or small - and no vehicle is too big or small.

The biggest advantage of a private garage versus a dealership is that in the dealership more time is spent on paperwork then on the vehicle itself. Above all, the job is very impersonal they fix your car today, mechanic John worked on it. You go back the next day because there is still a problem - they will sign you in - you wait in the lobby whilst your car is being fixed inside.

Yes, its being fixed except that today it is mechanic Jack who has no idea what John did to your car the day before and you are sitting in the lobby and have no idea what is going on with your car.Fast forward - welcome to Five Points. Simon or Jose (or both) will take a look at the problem and advise you accordingly. If the estimated cost exceeds the worth of your car, they will advise you accordingly. Once you decided to go for it, Simon and Jose will actually invite you and encourage you to watch what they are doing.

They will explain every little detail and so you will know what exactly is going on with your car. You will get it back only after both Simon and Jose are fully satisfied with their work. The next time you go there, the experts at Five Point will know everything about your vehicle - it's like going back to your long time family doctor or family tailor. So, folks, whether you drive a Bimmer, Merc or Chevy, or like me prefer trucks, Five Point if the place you want to be for all your car care needs.

To fix on appointment Call Simon or Jose at (562) 699-5312. Five Point Tire Center is located at 8465 Whittier Blvd, Pico Rivera CA- 90660. Call them - you will not be disappointed.
