Desi weddings find mainstream focus at NJWedding.com
Sunday, 03.25.2007, 11:15pm (GMT-7)

NEW JERSEY: Erik and Bent Kent, owners of NJWedding.com, the immensely popular mainstream wedding planning website, has launched a specific South Asian weddings section owing to the rising prominence of the community in New Jersey.

"With New Jersey being one of the most densely populated South Asian states, we welcomed the chance to promote the South Asian culture as part of our exhaustive wedding portal," says Erik Kent, owner of NJWedding.Com, who has been running the website for almost 10 years. The South Asian Weddings section on NJWedding.com has a detailed glossary of terms for those who are new to the culture or are interested in learning more about various topics and traditions.

The section also provides links to various banquet locations and wedding professionals that serve the South Asian community, and covers information on different kinds of weddings, what to expect at each wedding as well as a comprehensive FAQ section. With an increasing number of inter-cultural and inter-faith weddings in the South Asian community, NJWedding.com is among the first mainstream businesses in this market to to represent this group. "Many inter-faith couples are looking to honor both their South Asian and other family traditions and are looking for specific wedding vendors that can make their wedding day vision a reality," adds Kent.

Couples aren't the only ones who benefit from NJWedding.com. Wedding professionals too can access the recently unveiled "Business Resource Center", where they can explore a virtual library of helpful links. From wedding-business associations to bridal show producers and industry statistics, this collection of information enables wedding professionals to improve their knowledge and skills. NJWedding.com currently profiles more than 500 wedding businesses in the tri-state area (NY, NJ and PA).

With the bridal market projected to grow more than 22 percent in the next 15 years (source: wedding industry report), NJWedding.com is more than ready to guide them, whether in terms of expert advice or specific vendors to cater to their unique needs.
