CHICAGO: IllinoisVictims.org, a nonprofit group dedicated to advocating crime victims and gun control, recently announced its endorsement to an Indian American, Paul Chadha, for the elective position of State representative for the 26th legislative district.IllinoisVictims.org noted that Paul had been a staunch advocate of victims' rights and Chadha "works with victims of domestic abuse and rape and has a long history of working with women in difficult situations, helping them navigate the criminal and civil justice system to make sure that their rights as victims are protected.

"Paul's experience in representing crime victims gives him a unique perspective into the ways in which victim's rights can and must be protected and advanced in Illinois. In addition, Paul advocates gun control measures which close "loopholes," such as requiring background checks for gun purchases from private gun dealers.

IllinoisVictims.org concluded that "Paul has an impressive life and career and a bright future."Paul Chadha is a Democratic Candidate for Illinois State Representative for the 26th District. He was raised and educated in the Chicago land area, graduating from Proviso East H.S., DePaul University (B.A., 1999), and Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 2002), where he is currently an Adjunct Professor.

Paul, an Air Force veteran, has been active in several non-profit community organizations, including Streetwise, Trapdoor Theater and the Awassa Children's Project.
