Cal varsity to host NASALSA conference
Tuesday, 01.22.2008, 11:41pm (GMT-7)

LOS ANGELES: This year NASALSA's 10th Annual Conference will be hosted by University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. The conference will be held during Presidents' Day Weekend, February 15-17. Building on the success of the previous ten NASALSA conferences, the 2008 conference is entitled Reflecting Back, Reaching Forward: Building on a Decade of Progress. Ten years ago a group of South Asian law students created an organization to support the experiences and growth of South Asian law students and legal professionals across North America.

This year's conference seeks to reflect on the shared successes and struggles that both NASALSA and the associated community at large has faced over the last ten years. This conference seeks to build an interconnected and informed community of South Asian legal professionals that will continue to be effective contributors to the fast-paced, globalizing, and dynamic legal world. To this end, this conference will provide various other panels and workshops focused on exposing students to the vast array of career opportunities available to them, including giving tangible tips and describing the skills necessary for pursuing such opportunities.

The conference aims to create a community of law students that will go on to become a broad, strong, professional network; benefiting the individual attendees as well as their future employers.
