ANAHEIM, CA: Prominent Indo-American community members gathered in support of Councilman Harry Sidhu's campaign for the 33rd State Senate District seat at a fundraising dinner hosted by Dr Birinder Sahai on Sunday, March 25.

Councilman Sidhu addressed the gathering "in the spirit of unity," stating, "It has been an honor to serve as the first Indo-American elected to the Anaheim City Council. I now look forward to the opportunity of being a proud champion for all Indo-Americans and our communities in the State Senate as the first Indo-American to serve in Sacramento.

If we are unified as Indo-Americans, much may be achieved through elected representation in Sacramento that will give voice to our unique needs, goals, and objectives." Councilman Sidhu further explained that: "Mine is an Indo-American success story, and I am here to protect the American Dream.

I came to this country as a child and achieved the American Dream. At the heart of the American Dream is making a difference in our communities. It is my aim to advance the true unifying values of the American Dream as a means of saying thank you and giving back."

If elected as the first Indo-American State Senator in Sacramento, Councilman Sidhu said that he would work hard to foster an understanding of the Indian culture and "IT" - which he proudly explained stood for "Indian Talent." He closed his remarks by stating: "Working together we can make a difference and be the change that we want to see!"
