LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles is all set to welcome Yogi Ramdev, when he arrives this July to conduct a five-day yoga camp in the City of Angels. The camp will be held July 9 thru July 13 from 6 am to 8.30 pm in Hall B of the Anaheim Convention Center. The Anaheim Convention Center is located at 800 W Katella Avenue. Swami Ramdev specializes in teaching proper breathing techniques of Pranayama.

Combining yoga with Pranayama, Swami Ramdev has brought about radical changes in the health and mental well-being of millions of people around the world. Swami Ramdev has previously conducted yoga science camps in Britain, Africa, Canada and the US. He has been referred to as a "revered saint and an educator," and will be coming to Los Angeles to host daily yoga sessions. "You do not have to be a yoga expert to attend the sessions," says Surinder Mehta, one of the organizers of the event and a devoted Pranayama follower.

"That's why he's become so popular. He has simplified it so much that anybody can do it. It's very simple."Mehta says he's benefited greatly from Pranayama. "It has reduced my blood pressure, lowered my cholesterol, and I enjoy good health due to these exercises."According to Pranayama advocates, internal organs benefit from the practice because more oxygen is pumped into the body. Swami Ramdev is working to prove clinically that it really works.

"Because we don't breathe properly many of our cells die and that's how many problems start," says Mehta. "But when you start breathing properly, even for 10 or 15 minutes a day, those cells start to revive slowly and that solves most of your problems.

"Three levels of tickets are on sale for the event -$150, $300 and $500 and organizers say net proceeds will go to charitable organizations in India, "Most of the funds will be used on education and health projects," Mehta says. 'They are treating three to five thousand people a day for free in India. This is for people who cannot afford to pay."
