CERRITOS: With over fifty cheering supporters at a luncheon gathering, Carol Chen kicked-off her campaign for election to the Cerritos City Council. This is a special election to be held on June 3 to fill in the vacancy that has been created by the resignation of Councilman John Crawley.Crawley, who strongly supported Carol's bid for the Council last year, resigned recently due to health reasons.

This election is to fill in his remaining term of thirteen months.Carol Chen, has been a commissioner in the City for many years. She has been the Chair and presently the Vice -Chair of the Planning Commission and has served in the City for nearly two decades. Carol has always enjoyed a strong support amongst the Indian-Americans here, said Deepa Gandhi.

The Gandhi family, earlier, late Shirish Gandhi and now Dr. Bhavin and Deepa Gandhi have been on the forefront of Carol Chen's campaign along with the support of many others.According to Carol, she will be running once again in 2009 for a new term upon winning it this time.
