NEW JERSEY: Dr Sudhir Parikh, eminent physician, community leader, and publisher of The Indian American, was honored at a gala fund-raising and celebration event here. The event was held at Royal Albert Palace during celebrations on the fourth consecutive victory of Indian American Upendra J. Chivukula for the New Jersey General Assembly. The evening drew a genuine who's-who from the community, including US Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ), Congressman Frank Pallone, and State Sen. Bob Smith. Each of them offered congratulations to Dr Parikh for launching a national publication serving the Indian American community. "Publications are a good way to serve the community, and we're proud of this venture," said Sen. Lautenberg in his praise of Dr Parikh and his publishing endeavor.
