Ohlone College finalists for President
Tuesday, 04.08.2008, 11:30pm (GMT-7)

FREMONT: The Ohlone College Board of Trustees has announced three finalists for the position of President/Superintendent. The finalists represent college leadership from within California and from the state of New York. The candidates will be interviewed on April 15 by the Board of Trustees.

The three finalists are: 1) Dr. Gari Browning, Vice President of Instruction, College of the Desert, California; 2) Dr. Cecilia Cervantes, President, College of Alameda, California; and 3) Dr. Laurence Spraggs, President, Broome Community College, New York.

"We are extremely pleased with the high caliber of candidates that applied to be President of Ohlone College," said Board of Trustees President, Garrett Yee. "Ohlone College has a great reputation as an academic institution and is recognized as one of the top community colleges in California.

The search committee's job was to select from a large pool of highly qualified candidates and narrow it to just a handful of finalists. The committee did a great job during this process and we are thankful for their efforts."Open campus forums will be held on Monday, April 14 for Ohlone students, employees, and members of the community to meet the prospective presidential candidates.

These forums will last one hour for each candidate and will be held at 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. in Classroom 2133 on Ohlone College's Fremont campus. The open forums will also be webcast live.
