Sri Sri to lead 'Meditation & Yoga' Retreat

EDISON, NJ: Renowned spiritual leader and humanitarian Sri Sri Ravi Shankar will be in Edison July 4-6 to conduct his internationally lauded "Meditation & Yoga" retreat. Ten thousand people are expected to attend the event, where Sri Sri will share practical wisdom and techniques for how to achieve health and happiness amid the demands of daily life.

The visit is part of Sri Sri's continuing campaign to create a "stress-free, violence-free" America and to bring communities together for a "One World Family".The three-day event -- presented by the Art of Living Foundation, an international NGO founded by Sri Sri-- will be held at the Raritan Exposition Center on July 4-6 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Known for his deep insight and quick wit, Sri Sri is lauded globally for his work in trauma relief, women's empowerment, education, sustainable development, prison rehabilitation and youth leadership.

He is also credited with the design of the Sudarshan Kriya, an innovative rhythmic breathing practice that has been clinically proven to improve physical, mental and emotional health. Today, more than 25 million people across the globe practice Sudarshan Kriya regularly.

In the United States, Sri Sri's initiatives include providing disaster relief in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, trauma relief programs for American veterans, and youth leadership and individual empowerment programs across the nation.
