MILPITAS, CA: Swagat Restaurant in Milpitas witnessed a huge turnout of Indian and other Asian community members in support of Milpitas Mayor Jose Esteves, at a fundraising event organized by Dr Romesh Japra on April 9. Esteves is running for election for County Supervisor, District 03.The elite gathering of doctors, realtors, investors and entrepreneurs at the exclusive dinner clearly reflected their strong support and solidarity for Jose Esteves.

Talking to India Post, Esteves, who is currently serving his third term as Milpitas mayor said, "I am running for County Supervisor for several reasons: I strongly desire to continue to contribute to our community and I cannot run for another term as Mayor of Milpitas.

There are major issues facing the County and I want to bring my expertise and innovative solutions to help resolve these challenges."Esteves further said, "I want to bring the successes we've had in Milpitas to the County level, especially fiscal responsibility, support for businesses and innovative services I have been asked by many of you to be a candidate for Supervisor-you know me, my family, my values, and my commitment to the community."

He added that "people are his strength" and that he makes all efforts to ensure that they are well represented."
