Hanuman Jayanthi celebrated with Ram bhajans
Tuesday, 04.22.2008, 11:46pm (GMT-7)

MONTCLAIR: April 19 at Vedic Temple marked celebrations of Chittra Purnima, the full moon in the month of March-April. On this day we remember Chitragupta, the accountant of all our deeds and it was on this day that Lord Shiva opened his third eye, the brow energy center of wisdom.

The inspiration of this is to teach us that when our awareness is complete, no fantasies can cloud our thoughts and our actions will naturally be pure.In honor of this day, a beautiful abhishikam was performed for the Shiva Linga.

The devotees serenely participated in Nithya Dhyaan while Anandeshwara was dressed in 1008 rudraksha malas. Aikyananda Maharaj spoke beautifully about the inauguration of the new ashram in Tiruvannamalai, Paramahamsa Nithyananda's birthplace and a major spiritual nerve center on earth. On this day, the Master installed the world's largest Shiva Linga along with the installation of 1008 Shiva Lingas, making it an immensely healing energy field for the world.

Hanuman is one of the most beloved deities in the Hindu tradition and his Jayanthi (birthday) was celebrated with chanting, delightful Rama bhajans, stories and puja rituals at the temple on Sunday. As the greatest example of sincere service to the enlightened masters, Dasa Bhava, Hanuman shows us that when we take up the work of the Divine, we can literally move mountains!

As Paramahamsa Nithyananda teaches, we need to only accept responsibility with spontaneity, sincerity and devotion. Existence will provide all the energy, creativity and intelligence needed to successfully carry out the task.Children live naturally in a state of bliss. On Sunday, April 20, the Life Bliss Foundation sponsored the Little Ananda Fest, a day of blissful celebration of and for children.

They enjoyed music, games, contests and prizes, and were treated to cupcake decorating, henna tattoos (art of Mehndi), balloon animals, and face painting. A surprise performance by Ma Ragapriyananda (Music with Marnie fame) had the kids dancing, laughing, jumping and singing songs. This amazing day of celebration and transformation concluded with Maha Aarthi and Maha Prasad for all.
