MONTCLAIR: Vedic Temple, celebrated Mother's Day in a very unique way. Special Poojas were held for Divine Mother, the creative energy of the cosmos. Abhishekam was followed by Pooja. Devotees received blessings for their mothers by doing Archanas, an offering to the Divine of gratitude and love, that showers back the energy that you need.
The deity of Swami Nithyananda was also dressed as Devi and decorated heavily with fresh flowers that were brought in and sponsored by many devotees. In the afternoon, the Gundecha Brothers played Dhrupud music at the Ananda Sabha Hall, to a full house.
They dedicated their performance to Mother's Day. There was pin drop silence as they played. At the ending they were given a standing applause, and people lined up to receive their autograph and give they thanks for a superb performance.
Drupud music is a classical style of authentic temple music that is spiritual in nature and induces deep feelings of peace and contemplation in the listeners Doctors Kamalar and Savitiri Rambhatla held a grand puja for the energized deity of Devi that came and visited their home for Mother's Day.
Sri Vidya Pooja was preformed by 200 people as they gathered at the Rambhatlas for the celebration on May 10. It was a grand celebration, which included the welcoming ceremony, pooja to devi, Nithyadhyaan Meditation, Bhajans, and Prasadam. Around 6:30 pm Devi returned from the home to the Temple where she was welcomed by countless devotees that waited for her return ad the gaiety that follows.
The Gundecha Brothers were there to welcome Devi back and had the honor of fanning her. Evening was concluded with Aarti and special discourses and Archanas for mothers.
