The Mission of Sahayata is to provide health services including health and wellness education to individuals and families in need of healthcare assessment regardless of color, race and religion. This Health awareness clinic is no replacement for health insurance and no medications will be given at the site, it cautions.

A Sahayata press release said that on this day the main focus will be screening people for high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity. Diabetes and hypertension are becoming a big problem in our Punjabi community in USA as well as in Punjab, India. It said, "Just like being more aware of our culture, we need to be aware of these diseases, what should be done to prevent them and how to keep them under control."

This will be Sahayta's first attempt to have such a clinic in an atmosphere where people usually come to have fun and enjoy, besides learning our culture.
