Sarvadhari Ugadi celebrated in Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS: Telugu Association of Minnesota (TEAM) recently celebrated ‘Sarvadhari’ Ugadi at Bloomington in Minneapolis. The event was attended by over 500 enthusiastic members of the Telugu community. Overt 100 participants performed in cultural programs ranging from classical dances, vocal performances, movie dances, mono-action and Karate.

The evening started with Venal Kothur, TEAM Board of Director welcomed the guests for the Ugadi celebrations with New Year greetings and introduced the Master of Ceremony Priya Ravi along with Cultural Coordinator Padma Beravole. The cultural program began with a prayer song followed by the president’s speech by Ram Tallapaka. Ram expressed happiness over the Telugu community growth in twin cities and TEAM activities to preserve Telugu culture in adopted land. He sought continued community support for diversifying TEAM activities.

At half time TEAM Chairman Urmila Hejibu introduced the executive committee and explained TEAM activities. The second half was filled with more upbeat movie songs and mono-action of ‘Duryodhana” and a grand finale of all the participants. Enthusiastic youth and parents performed a ‘dance along” routine.
