LOS ANGELES: On Sunday May 18, a few hundred families gathered for an evening of entertainment and education to support the establishment of a western regional Saldef (Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund) office. Rajbir Dutta, National Director of Saldef, Kavneet Singh Alag, Western Regional Director, and Jaideep Alag hosted the evening.

The Saldef team shared information about their accomplishments, including the training video, "On Common Ground," which was shown to the audience during the evening. The future goals and Saldef 's mission in the area of legal defense and education about Sikhs American community living in United States of America was showcased.

While families enjoyed the delicious cuisine at the Tandoor Restaurant in Orange, they were entertained with Punjabi songs, Bhangra, and Punjabi Raap poetry. A Sikh Art exhibit was on display with a percentage of the proceeds donated to Saldef. The overwhelming support and response from community members helped Saldef succeed in its fundraising mission to fight for the civil rights of Sikhs and other community members facing discrimination.
