Tuesday, 07.01.2008, 11:11pm (GMT-7)

SUNNYVALE, CA: Raj , co-founder and Treasurer of Hindu Community & Cultural Organization organized Krishna Leela at Hindu Temple and Community Center, Sunnyvale. This is first time in North America this kind of play organized.

This is a fund raiser event for Hindu Temple and all funds would go for development of the temple. Dil Bagh owner of Taj Mahal entertainer's international promoter took the responsibility to get the "Theatre Arts Chandigarh" from India. Rajeev Mehta is Director of the play "Krishna Leela".

There were 10 artists who played 54 characters in the play. It was an excellent play and a powerful performance by all the artists, a light and sound panorama show in Hindi language with English subtitles in big projector. This is a play of Krishna birth to Kamsa's death. Krishna was Vasudeva and Devaki's son.

Krishna was born at the stroke of midnight in his four-armed Vishnu form, dressed in silk and jewels, carrying the four weapons: the conch, disc, club and lotus. His parents prayed for him to turn himself into an ordinary baby so they could hide him from Kamsa.

Lord advised Vasudeva to take him to Vrindavana and exchange him with a girl that had just been born there. Then he turned himself into a baby. Vasudeva took the child and departed for Vrindavana. Like the story of Moses, the story of Krishna also includes a parting of the waters, allowing Vasudeva to carry Krishna across the Jamuna River to Vrindavana.

This part of play was created in India and recorded and played in projector with all effects to have the feeling of Vasudeva carrying child and crossing Jamuna River.Taj Mahal entertainers announced that it would bring Ram Leela show again from India during festival.
