CHICAGO: LaPorte Country Democratic Chairman Dr Vidya Kora was elected a National Delegate from the 2nd congressional district in Indiana. He was elected at the 2nd district caucus held in conjunction with the Indiana State Democratic Convention held in Indianapolis. Dr Kora will serve as an Obama delegate.

Dr Kora has served as the Democratic Chairman in LaPorte County since September 2001. He is serving his 2nd term as the County Coroner. He is the immediate past president of the Indiana State Medical Association and currently serves as an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association from Indiana.

Dr Kora is an Internist and has a full time practice in Michigan City, Indiana. He serves on the Northern Indiana Regional Board of the Sisters of St. Francis and also serves on the board of Unity Foundation of LaPorte County.
