Inflation hurting common man in India: Reddy
Sunday, 07.20.2008, 09:37pm (GMT-7)

India Post News Service

CHICAGO: Indrasen Reddy, a senior leader of BJP India, said here that the Indian people are badly hurt by inflationary tendencies in the economy besides soft attitude to terrorists by the government. "People yearn for a change," he said.Reddy was on a visit to Chicago and was talking to ethnic Indian media.

There is an all round shortage and the common man could not make two ends meet easily. "There is a shortage of cooking gas and fertilizers, in addition to the steep rice in prices, "he said. Under the Atal Behari Vajpayee government, there was a big focus on rural development, development of roads and provision of drinking water, in contrast to the apathy of the present government in these areas, he said.BJP stood a good chance of coming to power if the the elections are held this year. The Congress victory in the last elections was due in large part to the results in Andhra Pradesh.

This time, the BJP was likely to win in Andhra and Tamil Nadu, he said. He alleged that anti national activities were on a rise. Notes are printed in Bangladesh while China and Pakistan are supporting terrorist activites. China is creating trouble in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, "We need a strong government," he said. Reddy scotched insinuations NRIs were channeling funds for communal hatred.
