CCF and ICA celebrate Navratri
Wednesday, 10.08.2008, 01:10am (GMT-7)

SUNNYVALE: The nine-day festival of Navratri before Diwali is being celebrated with great fanfare and devotion. Colorfully dressed young people, seniors and little ones are playing the Garba and Dandia. Two very well known organizations Charitable Care foundation (CCF) and India Cultural Association of Bay Area (ICA) united for two weekends of Navratri celebration. More then 2,000 attended and enjoyed non-stop Garba and Raas with the tune of Ashim and Madhvi Mehta group.

CCF has pledged the profit from this celebration will be donated towards Children Health Care Center. CCF and ICA board is pleased with the turnover and is sending the message to several other community organizations to unite and celebrate Navratri Mahotsava on a much larger scale and donate a big sum to the cause of humanity. CCF released pledged amount of $ 25,000 with a total sum of $30,000 for constructing Dining Hall at Sankara Eye Hospital in Anand Gujarat.

This hospital between Anand and Vadodra will be opened on October 19. The CCF has planned a fund raising program for the 17th Annual Raas Garba Film and Folk Dance competition on March 14, 2009 at Chabot College Auditorium in Hayward. CCF is inviting sponsors, donors, advertisers, participants and qualified judges for this event.
