ARTESIA: Calcutta Kompany, Little India's latest gem, has opened its portals for business. The opening ceremony was attended by a large crowd of friends and well wishers.

There was a brief prayer and the lighting of the "Jyot" after which  Artesia Mayor pro tem Tony Lima cut the ribbon. Also at the ceremony was a bevy of beauties led by Miss Artesia.

Owners CK and Nisha Khurana made sure there was abundant food, snacks and drinks. The Khuranas left no stone unturned in their hospitality.

The 1800 sq feet store offers a wide variety of products. There is a vast choice in perfumes, cosmetics, fashion jewelry, women's shoes and accessories, handbags and sunglasses to mention a few.

The luggage range includes top brands including Samsonite. One can also choose from a variety of hand carved rosewood furniture, Murtis and Mandirs. Other novelties include a hand crafted "Victoria" (as in the movie Victoria No 203) complete with a horse. Also on display is an original HMV Gramophone.

The store is located in the Gateway to India Plaza on Pioneer. This plaza is by itself totally self contained complete with a grocery store, three restaurants, pharmacy, salon, photo studio, cell phone satellite television and phone card store, flower shop, optometrist, dentist and a herbal salon. There is ample free parking and it's barely two minutes away from the main strip and the 91 freeway.

According to owner CK Khurana  Calcutta Kompany's rates are the lowest, and fixed. The hospitality is traditional. Originally from Ludhiana, Khurana knows all that it takes to make a customer happy and no doubt shopping at Calcutta Kompany will be an experience to remember.
