Murderer held after gun battle in Delhi

NEW DELHI: A man wanted in a double murder case was arrested from an Outer Delhi locality after a gun battle when he came there to allegedly commit another murder, a senior police official said.

Sandeep Chitania was caught from Sector 25 of Rohini after the gunbattle, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Atul Katiyar told PTI.

"We had information that Chitania will be coming to the locality to commit a murder. We laid a trap and when we tried to apprehend him, he opened fire which was retaliated by police party," he said.

Chitania allegedly shot dead two people in Aman Vihar last year during a program.

He was also allegedly involved in five to six attempt to murder cases.
