Hillary attends launch of Directory of US Gurdwaras

Anaheim Hills, CA: The So Cal Sikh sangat officially launched the 2007 Directory of Gurdwaras in USA. Gurbaksh Singh Bhasin, Ken Singh and Jagjit Singh Bains officially released the directory on behalf of the community. This was done at a breakfast reception at the home of Priti and Dr Anil Shah. The launching took place in the presence of leading luminaries including former First Lady and Presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton.

Hillary autographed the first copy of the directory as a token of her endorsement. Jagjit Singh Bains, President Sir Speedy, Tustin also presented her with a copy of the directory.Talking to Bains, Hillary applauded the Sikh community for their pioneering spirit and said that the Sikh Diaspora in the US was amongst her strongest supporters. She also congratulated Bains on the directory and said that the directory would be a big help to the faithful.

Almost over 200 people representing the South Asian Community attended the event.The very next day former President Bill Clinton autographed another copy of the directory as a token of his endorsement.The 2007 Directory of US Gurdwaras has been published and printed by Sir Speedy Printing Tustin as comprehensive networking resource for the Sikh community.

The aim is to bring the Sikh community together in the US for better coordination of social, cultural, religious and business efforts.
