Ram plays different tune and succeeds
Sunday, 08.19.2007, 10:08pm (GMT-7)

CHICAGO: He could have been a successful physician, but he opted for a life of innovations and dynamics of growth and services. He wanted to reach out to larger segments of society in a different way.He came to the US when the Information Technology had just begun its upward mobility as the businesses came to learn of its efficacy and better productivity.

A forward looking young man as he was, Dr Ram Gajjela looked at the brighter distant horizon and decided to join the IT revolution. A medical graduate of Osmania University, Hyderabad, India therefore found a niche in the Information Technology and ventured into it. He established Marstech Software Solutions, just as the scientific community in the US was venturing into investigating the Planet Mars in distant horizons of space. Satellites were in a hurry to move towards this hope of the future to set up and develop colonies there.

Mars apparently is therefore the symbol of hope for a bright and successful future for Ram Gajjela. It was not too far before Ram Gajjela saw the future of IT in the Health and Health Care Industry, especially with the increasing number of baby boomers entering into their retirement age and looking for healthier lifestyles. Healthcare industry was projected to be the fastest growing business in the US in the years to come.Making decisions came quite naturally to Gajjela and he missed no time to set up two businesses, one in the name of Marstech Healthcare and the other Chicago Home Healthcare. Mars Healthcare deals with health education and training programs to prepare personnel to handle the new trends and needs of the community.

On the other hand Chicago Healthcare continued with the old world practices of serving the sick and disabled from the environment of one's own home.According to Gajjela, this kind of old-world services tend to give confidence to the patients and psychologically make them receptive to the medical treatments and suggestions, while at the same time knowing that their loved ones were around along with trained aid givers and nurses reducing the burdens of the family members, who were otherwise engaged in their personal or professional activities. He explained that his facility is State-licensed and equipped to serve patients residing in Cook, DuPage, Will and Lake Counties. He mentioned that plans were on anvil to expand the services to the other parts of the State, especially Rockford, yet another large city of Illinois.

He is working to seek licenses and open up facilities in the neighboring States like Indiana and Wisconsin. He assured that the caregivers recruited in his firm were carefully screened, insured and supervised by highly qualified and experienced administrators and clinical supporting staff. Besides taking care of the personal medical needs of the patients he said he had others services in place, like physical, occupational, respiratory and speech therapies.

Marstech Healthcare also provides other important services to help patients including proper and timely advice on various upgrades in services and teach them how to monitor diabetes, cancer, blood pressure, etc. Ram Gajjela is closely associated with several social, charitable and political organizations in Chicago. He is long time member of the Federation of Indian Associations, Chicago chapter, and has recently been elected as the President of Indian American Democratic Organization.
