CHICAGO: The Asian American Coalition of Chicago (AAC) honored Indian Americans Harleen Kaur Saini, and Laxman Alreja at their 25th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration last week. Incidentally, the day happened to be India’s Republic Day.

CHICAGO: The newly elect members of Manav Seva Mandir, a socio religious organization of Indians here, took oath of office recently on the auspicious day of Makara Sankrat. The members of Board of Trustee and executive Committee were elected with thumping majority of members last month. Acharya Dr CL Shshatri administered the oath of office.

CHICAGO: The Indo-American Democratic Organization (IADO), an ethnic Indian body whose mission is to increase Indian American participation in the political process of this county, announced last week its endorsement of a number of Democratic candidates seeking the party nominations for the general elections.

CHICAGO: A prominent Indian American tax consultant Sohan Joshi has struck a deal with a leading American tax consultant firm, Roni Deutch Tax Corporation, for providing state of the art services to the customers in Chicagoland. The first ever facility in Chicago at 6410 N. Fairfield was formally launched last week in the presence of eminent Indian Americans.

CHICAGO: India Association of Skokie & Village Nursing Home jointly sponsored celebration of India Independence Day on Sunday, January 27 in Skokie with nearly 200 members of the Indian community. Patients of the Nursing Home and guests also enjoyed the observation and presentation of a cultural program.
