SANTA CLARA: On October 7, at the Mayuri restaurant in Santa Clara, the IWE (Indian American Women Empowered) held a seminar titled 'An Eye on your Money'. It was aimed at better acquainting Indian women settled in the US on how to save and compound their money in order to secure a bright future not only for themselves, but for loved ones.
Nithyananda to inaugurate Vedic university

MONT CLAIR: Paramahamsa Nithyananda will himself be present for the Grand Consecration of Vedic temple and inauguration of Nithyananda Vedic Sciences University by in Mont Clair from November 7 to 11. The event will witness 48 hours of continuous Vedic rituals; installation of a number of deities and inauguration of a Vedic Sciences University to raise awareness of the Vedic tradition.

NOVATO, CA: "Celebrating Human Greatness" was the focus at the Anubhuti Meditation and Retreat Center in Novato, California by the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization on October 6. Seventy people attended, most of them long time immigrants of Indian origin. They were treated to an evening of inspiring stories about how their lives have been touched by acts of "greatness" by ordinary people.

HAYWARD, CA: Pratham SF- Bay Area's Annual fundraiser was held on September 29 at Chabot College in Hayward, CA. Shruti Patel, Pratham Idol winner 2007 kicked off the evening and was followed by Dinmani, first runner up in the competition. Neeraj Tandon and Viraj performed a medley of new and old songs while Victor Uberoi kept the evening moving as the emcee.
