South Asian healthcare brokers honored
Sunday, 04.27.2008, 10:04pm (GMT-7)

NEW JERSEY: This March, the Asian Initiatives of UnitedHealthcare/Oxford Health Plans (UHC/Oxford) honored the outstanding achievements of its South Asian brokers for 2007 by holding the annual brokers appreciation luncheon.

Conceived to praise the brokers' efforts, the luncheon was once again a momentous occasion. Brokers gathered to celebrate a successful 2007, and also made the event a venue to share their knowledge and insight.

UHC/Oxford revealed the latest company news and presented awards to the eight South Asian Top Insurance Brokers for their distinguished performance in 2007: Amin Khatri - the diamond award recipient; Ben Kantharaju, Kamlesh Vaswani, Nick Shah, Rakesh Bansal, Ruchit Shah, Yogesh Patel, and Vijay Singhal. Christopher Law, Vice President of the Asian Initiatives, UnitedHealthcare/Oxford, remarked in his speech, "The achievements of the Top Insurance Brokers fully demonstrate their initiative and their continuing support.

We regard every broker as a valuable business partner to whom we offer our full support and actively maintain close relations. Three years ago, UnitedHealthcare/Oxford established the South Asian Initiative, and since then we have created an entire team encompassing both service and sales, and have developed businesses with the community in mind. Today, the team has demonstrated success in our business.

There are many multi-sited businesses within the South Asian market beyond the tri-state area. With our dedicated service team, various products and plans, we hope that our brokers will have more business opportunities and that we will be able to serve our community better."

Diamond award recipient Amin Khatri noted, "Service and relationship are my edge, and I am glad that UnitedHealthcare/Oxford shares the same vision. I appreciate what the dedicated service team has done for me.

Their service helped me with a multitude of issues and saved me valuable time, which allows me to focus on those who are the most important - my clients. That's the reason I can grow my businesses and be the top broker."

Yogesh Patel, one of the Top Brokers said, "It's my pleasure to be given such an honor, and I've been working with the South Asian Initiatives team closely and actively participating in their program and functions.

Just couple months ago, we were invited to the meeting to share market insight. UnitedHealthcare/ Oxford is a company that is willing to listen and dedicate its attention to the needs of the South Asian community, and I see it as a vital business partner to us."
