Sunday, 05.27.2007, 11:55pm (GMT-7)

India Post News Service

ST. LOUIS: The third annual Health Fair organized jointly by the Indian Medical Council, Mahatma Gandhi Center and the Hindu Temple of St. Louis was held on Saturday, May 12 from 9 pm to 2 pm. It was a great success drawing close to three hundred patients. People came from as far as Columbia, Missouri just to attend the Health Fair.

The Health Fair included general health checkup, women's health issues, ophthalmology screening and information, orthopedic check up and back rub, dental check up, education on diabetes, heart disease, cancer, allergy, diet and mental health, blood tests for glucose, PSA, cholesterol and triglyceride levels, registration with Komen for the Cure for free mammogram, and osteoporosis screening (bone densitometry).

There was an optional tour of the Hindu Temple available. Over fifty physicians and non-physicians were devoted to the cause of the Health Fair. One of the patients who took part in the Health Fair called and said "It was very well organized and very well run.

Every one was very helpful, polite, and did a fine job…" The Humanitarian Committee of the Hindu Temple and the Hindu Temple Youth Group are now looking forward to planning next year's Health Fair.
