1,300 fugitive immigrants nabbed

WASHINGTON: More than 1,300 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives, and immigration violators including from India have been removed from the US or are facing deportation October 9 following the largest enforcement drive ever carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams.

The two-week long operation in the Los Angeles area resulted in the arrest of 530 immigration violators and some 258 immigration fugitives, aliens who have ignored final orders of deportation or who returned to the US illegally after being removed.
