Multicultural Center for immigrants
Sunday, 03.11.2007, 10:47pm (GMT-7)

NEW YORK: The International Immigrants Foundation inaugurated the Multicultural Center on March 2 with the assistance of Dr Guillermo Linares, Commissioner of the Office of Immigrant Affairs of the Mayor's Office in NYC, and the Board of Directors, and members of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists in the United States.

The International Immigrant Foundations' Multicultural Center opens a unique space of more than 2000 square foot dedicated to the intercultural development and the business sectors that make up the community's diversity in the tri-state area. Edward Juarez, President and Founder of International Immigrants Foundation said, "We are very proud of this place since it was a contribution by immigrant workers for all the immigrant communities, in the heart of Manhattan.

The work of the immigrants in the social and business areas in this country is outstanding." Commissioner Linares emphasized the job of the immigrant community in the economy development, not only in New York but also in the American Union.

"This Immigrant Building and its Multicultural Center are a clear example of the hard work of the New York City community that is today mostly composed by immigrants." The Multicultural Center will officially open next month for workshops, conferences, exhibitions, business meetings, and cultural activities.
