Nupur defends husband, says he can't be killer Monday, 05.26.2008, 03:39am (GMT-7) NOIDA: Nupur Talwar, the wife of dentist Rajesh Talwar, arrested on May 25 for allegedly killing his daughter and domestic help, has claimed that he was totally innocent and she would fight his battle for justice and not sit quiet. Nupur and Rajesh's brother Dinesh Talwar visited him at the Dasna jail on May 26 where he has been lodged since his arrest on Friday. After meeting his brother, Dinesh said the family believed Rajesh to be "100 per cent" innocent." I have faith that the truth will prevail," he told reporters. Nupur, who also visited a temple, has come out in strong defence of her husband claiming his innocence in the twin murder. Rajesh's bail application is likely to come up for hearing at a local court. His lawyers have stated in the bail plea that there was no evidence to link him to the crime and that he should be released as he suffered from severe asthma. She also denied there were any illicit relations between her husband and Anita Durrani, a dental surgeon, which the police said was one of the reasons for the twin murder. Coming out in strong defence of her husband, Nupur said, "with all my conviction I can say it (Rajesh killing Arushi) can’t be the way it is suggested (by the police). He was a doting father. It is doubly untrue. "In fact I used to feel that I had done something good in the past to be part of such a wonderful family. I have faith in the legal system and I have faith in God," she said. Nupur, who is also a dentist, said she cannot believe that her husband could be behind the murders. "It is not possible, just not possible. The killer is out there somewhere. We will have to fight it out in the court. The truth is there. The truth has to come out." |
