CBI cleans drains to find Aarushi murder weapon
Sunday, 06.08.2008, 09:46pm (GMT-7)

NEW DELHI: Hoping to recover the weapon used in Noida double murder, the CBI cleaned a number of drains located around the residence of dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused of murdering his 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj.

Suspecting that the weapon might have been thrown somewhere near the Talwar house, the CBI engaged people to get drains cleaned, searched bushes and garbage dumps in surrounding areas of the dentist's Sector 25 residence.

While probing the Nithari serial killing case, the agency too had undertaken similar operations which resulted the recovery of human bones and remains of skeletal. During the search, the CBI cordoned off the entire locality and no one is allowed to enter in it.

The CBI had already approached television channels for handing over "raw" footage of coverage of the twin murder case.

The CBI shot off letters to all television channels asking them to provide the "unedited" footage of the coverage of the murder case. Talwar was sent to 14 days judicial custody after four days CBI custody.
