CHENNAI: More than 100 Indian trainees have been asked to vacate their lodges at American School of Aviation (ASA) in California. Students coming from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Patna are left marooned.
The students were a part of commercial pilot training jointly run by Kingfisher and ASA. The school said they are facing financial problems and it might be asked to close down. Students paid $46,500 for joint venture flying program and $39,900 for special training program.
According to a report in Times Of India, K Ganesh Kini, father of Ajay Kini, one of the trainee pilot from Chennai said" My son has been a brilliant Student who wanted to be a pilot. He joined the course in October 2007.
When the flying school said they didn't have money, he even paid for fuel to fly the plane a few days ago. I have borrowed money from banks to meet his expenses."
