NEW DELHI: With an eye on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister for Steel Ram Vilas Paswan announced a slew of measures ranging from a special recruitment drive for SC and ST to increase in salaries for contract laborers in public sector units.
"A decision was taken that all profit making PSUs which include SAIL, NMDC, RINL, MOIL and MSTC would chalk out time bound special recruitment drives for SC/ST candidates to fill up vacancies within the next two months," Paswan told reporters here.
