NEW DELHI: Delhi BJP has asked its workers to begin an intensive campaign to prepare public opinion against the "anti-people" policies of the Congress government in the capital ahead of assembly elections in November.
President Harshvardhan claimed that people were fed up with the Congress' misrule of the past ten years. He also claimed that the BJP has a track record of helping people living in unauthorized colonies.
Addressing a meeting which was attended by all the party MLAs and other office-bearers, he said, "Only the BJP can free the people from the corrupt rule of the Congress.
The time has come for the people to dislodge the Congress party in the coming polls." Harshvardhan, also the party's likely chief ministerial candidate, termed the Delhi government's announcement of providing flats to the poor as "misleading".
He also asked workers to report on "irregularities" in the voter list in their respective areas to the party, after which the matter would be taken up with the Election Commission.
