Death sentence to two in Beant Singh assassination case

CHANDIGARH: Jagtar Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh, two of the six convicts, in the assassination of Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh, were awarded death sentence by a Special Court here.

Three others Shamsher Singh, Lakhwinder Singh and Gurmeet Singh were handed out life imprisonment by the court of R K Sondhi held inside the high security Burail Jail here.
