Salman in jail, bail plea not heard
Monday, 08.27.2007, 03:23am (GMT-7)

Jodhpur, August 27: Bollywood star Salman Khan, lodged in a jodhpur jail for hunting an endangered deer nine years back, will have to wait till Wednesday to know the fate of his bail plea with the Rajasthan High Court declining to hear the application on Monday.

Justice G K Vyas listed Khan's revision petition for hearing on Wednesday after the star was sentenced to five years in prison following his conviction in the chinkara poaching case.

Salman's counsel H M Saraswat sought early hearing on Khan's revision petition after he surrendered himself to Rajasthan police on Saturday last following an arrest warrant.

He had also moved an application seeking suspension of the actor's sentence along with the revision petition. Khan was sent to Barrack no 1.5 in Jodhpur jail on Saturday.

The actor had spent three nights in the same barrack in April last year before he got bail.
