NEW DELHI: The Communist Party of India has cautioned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh saying the United Progressive Alliance government's "friendship with USA could spell doom for him and his regime." "Manmohan Singh should learn a lesson from former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair who was voted out of the office for his friendship with George Bush," said CPI general secretary A B Bardhan.
Uphaar case verdict put off to Oct. 22

NEW DELHI: Delhi High court has deferred its verdict in the Uphaar cinema hall fire tragedy till October 22. Almost 59 people were killed in a fire at the cinema hall while a film was being screened. The victims died of asphyxia when a transformer of the erstwhile Delhi Vidyut Board in the basement caught fire and rapidly engulfed the entire theatre.
