Wednesday, 01.30.2008, 03:20am (GMT-7)

PARK CITY, UT: Michelob Ultra was the Official Beer Sponsor of the seventh annual Asian Pacific Filmmakers Reception at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on January 20. More than 500 Asian actors, actresses, agents and filmmakers attended the reception including Yung Chang, Director, Up the Yangtze, Julia Kwan, Director, Smile, Tadashi Nakamura, Director, Pilgrimage, and Jennifer Phang, Director, Half-Life.

The Asian Pacific Filmmakers Reception at Sundance began in 2002 to acknowledge the strong presence of Asian filmmakers at the nation's top film festival. This year, more than 30 films from Asian American filmmakers and Asian international artists were presented at Sundance and Slamdance.

"We are proud to return as the Official Beer Sponsor of the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Reception at Sundance with Michelob ULTRA, our American-style, light lager," said Jason Pak, Senior Director, Asian Marketing, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. "There has been an unprecedented growth of Asian films over the past decade and we are happy to be part of an annual celebration that recognizes not only the films but Asian filmmakers as a whole."

"With Michelob Ultra's continuing patronage of our event, they help assure that the achievements made by Asian and Pacific filmmakers at Sundance and Slamdance are recognized at the world's most important showcase for independent cinema," said Winston Emano, co-founder of the Sundance Asian Pacific Filmmakers Reception.

"We are grateful for Anheuser-Busch's consistent support over the past years as it has helped to provide a venue to celebrate quality film making with diverse points of view."
