Dish launches Star channels in US
Sunday, 03.16.2008, 11:34pm (GMT-7)

ENGLEWOOD, COLO. & HONG KONG: Dish Network Corporation, a leading US satellite-TV provider, has announced the launch of two leading Star India channels, as part of Dish Network's "Hindi Mega Pack" channel package.

Expanding on its commitment to the South Asian consumer, Dish Network's suite of Hindi channels included in the "Hindi Mega Pack" will include Star India Plus (channel 716) and Star India One (channel 718) beginning March 19.

"It's truly exciting to be able to bring these two channels to Dish Network's Hindi-speaking audiences across the United Sates," said David Wisnia, Star's senior vice president for Distribution and Sales and head of its North American and European offices.

"We're confident that Dish subscribers will be compelled by Star's lineup of popular programming and will be thrilled to follow the same hit programs as their friends and families are watching in Asia."

"This partnership with Star and the addition of these top-quality Indian channels further proves Dish Network's commitment to delivering the best quality and variety of programming to our South Asian customers," said Tracy West, vice president of International Programming for DISH Network.

"Nowhere in the U.S. will you find a better programming lineup targeted to this audience at the price and value offered by Dish Network."
