Monday, 04.09.2007, 03:22am (GMT-7)

NEW YORK: Sony Entertainment Television Asia's Boogie Woogie Chalo America is a unique dance competition that will be held across the nation this spring. This April and May, each participating region will select one winner each from the senior and junior categories to compete in the US finals.

The senior and junior winners from the US finals will then go on to compete in the International finals! Originally based in India, Boogie Woogie Chalo America launched in the US in 2002 and took off with great success. Following the immense success of the Boogie Woogie television show in SET Asia, children, parents and promoters across the US were eager to establish this dance competition in their own cities.

For its second year, Boogie Woogie Chalo America expanded to include even more cities across the country. This year, Boogie Woogie Chalo America has expanded even further to include all of New England! From California, to Maine, to Texas, to Illinois, children across the entire United States will be able to take part in this exciting international dance competition.

The participating regions in this year's competition are: Atlanta, Chicago, Florida, Los Angeles, Michigan, New England, New Jersey, San Francisco, Texas, and Washington, DC. Four enthusiastic and talented winners have emerged from the past two years of sensational Boogie Woogie Chalo America competitions.

The first US finals senior category winner was Mala Tejwani from Los Angeles and the junior category winner was Nikkitasha Marwaha from Washington, DC. The second US finals senior category winner was Hardik Soni from Chicago and the junior category winner was Labdhi Sheth from Los Angeles.
